Copyright and licensing

The relationship between authors and the publisher of Margulan Readings is governed by the following terms.

Authors retain all exclusive rights to their articles. Publication in Margulan Readings does not entail the transfer of these rights to the publisher.

When submitting a manuscript, authors must provide the editorial office with an Author's Declaration, confirming their acceptance of the journal's editorial and publication policies, the originality of their work, and their ownership of the rights or possession of the necessary permissions for the materials included in the article.

Upon acceptance of an article for publication, authors enter into a License Agreement with the publisher. Under this agreement, the publisher is granted a non-exclusive right to publish the article for the first time and to use it in print and electronic formats in the agreed-upon ways. The permitted uses, duration, territorial scope, and other terms of the license are specified in the agreement. The agreement also provides for the publication of the article under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.

Retention of copyright allows authors to deposit their published articles in repositories and on personal websites, use them for research and educational purposes, and enter into agreements concerning further use of their articles. When an article is subsequently shared or republished, its original publication in Margulan Readings must be acknowledged, preferably with a link to its DOI.

Licensing Terms

Articles published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license may be copied, distributed, translated, and adapted for non-commercial purposes without prior permission from the authors or publisher. When using such materials, users must give appropriate credit to the authors, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether any changes have been made. A reference to the original publication in the journal and its DOI should be provided wherever reasonably practicable.

The license does not apply to third-party materials explicitly identified as exceptions in the article. Such materials must be used in accordance with the terms established by their respective rights holders. Commercial use of copyrighted materials requires separate permission from the rights holder where such permission is necessary.

The terms of use for articles published in previous issues are governed by the copyright and licensing information provided with the respective publications.

Interested parties may contact the author directly or through the editorial office.
