Digital Archiving and Long-Term Preservation
Margulan Readings takes measures to preserve published articles and journal issues, maintains access to them through its official website, and arranges backup storage of electronic materials.
The Publisher submits mandatory complimentary copies of the journal in accordance with Article 24-2 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Culture". When the journal is published in print, copies are submitted to national libraries and the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan. An electronic copy is also submitted to the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Copies may also be preserved in the Publisher's library and archives.
Information on the journal's participation in specialized long-term digital preservation networks will be published once the journal has formally joined such networks.
Self-Archiving Policy
Authors retain exclusive rights to their articles and may deposit different versions of their work in institutional and subject-specific repositories, on personal websites, and on academic platforms.
Before publication in the journal, authors may share a preprint, i.e., a version of the manuscript that has not undergone the journal's peer-review process. Following publication, authors may deposit both the accepted manuscript and the published version of the article without any embargo period. When depositing an article, authors must clearly identify the version being shared and provide the bibliographic details of its publication in the journal, a link to the published article, and its DOI, if assigned.
The published version of the article is distributed under the terms of the license specified at the time of publication. Third-party materials identified in the article as exceptions to this license must be used in accordance with the rights of their respective copyright holders. Since authors retain exclusive rights to their articles, they may separately authorize other forms of use of their work.
Preprint Policy
The journal permits authors to post preprints both before manuscript submission and during the review process. Posting a preprint does not, in itself, constitute publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal and is not grounds for rejecting a manuscript from consideration.
When submitting a manuscript, authors must inform the editorial office of any publicly available preprint and provide a link to it and its DOI, if assigned. The manuscript must not be under consideration by another journal at the same time. Textual overlap between the submitted manuscript and a preprint disclosed to the editorial office is not, in itself, considered plagiarism. The editorial office evaluates the results of similarity checks in context.
A preprint must be clearly identified as a manuscript that has not undergone journal peer review. For example: "This manuscript is a preprint, has not undergone peer review by a journal, and may differ from the final published version."
Following publication of the article, authors must add a link to the published version and its DOI, if assigned, to the preprint's webpage. When citing the work, the specific version used must be clearly identified.
