Abstract

The city of Saraishyq is one of the medieval cities located along the Silk Road. It is known from historical sources that the city is closely connected with major events in the history of the Golden Horde, the Kazakh Khanate and the Nogai Horde. In addition, Saraishyq is one of the places that absorbed the greatest influence of the cultural complex of the Desht-i Qipchaq steppe than other cities of the Golden Horde. Today, historical works related to the history of the city are in scientific circles. However, they have almost no exact data on the time of the foundation and the emergence of the city. On this basis, great importance should be attached to the upcoming archaeological excavations at the site of the medieval city of Saraishyq. Because by studying archaeological and numismatic materials, new data necessary for the history of the city will be revealed. Thus, the importance of cleaning and determining the attribution of numismatic artifacts identified during archaeological research increases.
