The archaeological site Koktas 2 is part of a large archaeological complex dating to the Late Bronze Age–Early Iron Age. The article presents preliminary results of the typological, technological, and traceological study of stone tools and their fragments discovered during excavations at this settlement. For the initial analysis, 55 specimens were selected from the total stone inventory collection, which comprises over 150 artifacts, all obtained from Excavation 1. The results of the study confirm the hypothesis that local raw material sources were used for the production of stone tools. The high variability and multifunctionality of the tools, designed for extracting copper-containing ores and processing their products, in turn, indicate that the population of Koktas 2 prioritized specialization in metallurgical production.
