Medieval archaeological sites of Khizi district
(history of study and some results of the research)

The article deals with the little-studied medieval sites of Khizi district, located in the northeast of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Despite the fact that the sites here were registered in the mid of the last century, the territory of Khizi in the archaeological aspect has practically not been subjected to large-scale research. As a result of the work carried out, it was established that the monuments of Khizi differ not only in chronological range, but also in typological category. We made a classification of sites in this district and an attempt to localize one of the medieval cities in this territory.
