The site of the Final Paleolithic of Chernoozerye II – the current stage of research

The article presents brief results of the 2015-2022 studies of the Late Paleolithic – Early Mesolithic sites of
Chernoozerye II. Attention is focused on interdisciplinary studies of the geomorphology of the Chernoozerye low
ridge, which accommodates the cultural horizons of this monument. Granulometric indicators obtained for subaerial
deposits of the Chernoozerye low ridge are characteristic of sands with Aeolian processing. The low ridge is composed
of Aeolian deposits, represented by fine-grained well-sorted powdery and clay sands, including two horizons of buried
soils. At the turn of the Neo-Pleistocene and Holocene of 11–10,5 thousand BC in the south of Western Siberia, the
climate softened, during this period groups of hunter-gatherers appeared on the territory of the low ridge.
